The weather was terrible! Storm Floris was battering the farm, with very high winds and torrential rain. But Andrea had not ridden her horse today and she always rides her every day. It was pretty clear that she was going to get wet!
But it wasn’t particularly cold, so no need for major wet weather gear. A pair of medium weight HKM denim jodhpurs with a brown suede seat, a white blouse and a lightweight Ariat waterproof jacket. A pair of Bareback waterproof leather riding boots completed the outfit.
By the time she got to the outdoor arena, the rain had slackened from torrential to merely heavy and she enjoyed the sensation of slowly getting wet. It trickled down her neck, it ran into her boots, and it soaked her thighs and the suede seat of her jodhpurs.
After 20 minutes of canter, counter-canter and flying changes, she was very soggy but also very hot so she took of the jacket and let the rain soak into her shirt. Splashing back through the puddles she patted her horse and showed her into her stable.
“Why do I always get dirty when I play with horses?” she thought, as she headed to the hosepipe. There was no point trying to minimise the spray, she was already soaked, so she simply rinsed herself off all over.
It was only when she walked back to the mounting block and began to unbutton her shirt that the real reason for feeling so hot whilst riding became clear. The latex catsuit underneath her riding clothes! Trust Andrea to prepare well for riding in the rain…
