Andrea had been out riding in the pouring rain wearing a pair of Holland Cooper waterproof riding pants and when she got home she was amazed (not to mention a little disappointed) to find that she was completely dry inside them.
Normally, even the best riding gear leaks after an hour sitting on a soaking saddle, but not these trousers – she was completely dry! And this set her off wondering just how much they could tolerate before they leaked. There was only one way to find out, and that was to put on a pair of tight blue jeans with the Holland Cooper waterproof trousers over the top and then to head out over the salt marsh to find somewhere very wet and muddy.
There’s no doubt that she found somewhere that fitted the bill, and there’s also no doubt that she had a great time splashing and rolling in the deep sloppy mud. Despite her best efforts, the over-trousers kept her jeans completely clean and dry.
Eventually, she had to admit defeat and lie back in the wet slop so that it trickled into the back of her trousers and she could then feel the wetness of her jeans. She peeled off the waterproof trousers and spent a happy time sliding on her front down the mud banks and rolling in the cold muddy water in her jeans. She was completely soaked and covered in mud from head to toe when she eventually headed for home.
To protect the interior of her truck from the salty mud and water, she emptied her Hunter riding boots and then pulled on a big thick neoprene-lined Fladen flotation suit over her mud-caked and soaking clothing.
Of course, there would have to be a proper cleaning-up when she got home, and as she started the engine of the pickup she was already planning precisely what form that clean-up would take…
